We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Office Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Pediatric Associates team at Southern Ohio Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our providers in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Collect and document patient vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, and medical history
- Perform and maintain LPN duties related to physician office operations
- Conduct monthly inspections of supplies and medications, ensuring proper stocking and disposal
- Review charts for next day's appointments and update medication lists
- Assist with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and scanning
- Provide coverage in other areas of the Foundation offices as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient needs
- Pre-clean, decontaminate, and transport contaminated instruments according to policy
- Cross-train to perform Medical Office Assistant duties
- Follow vaccine and medication management policy
- Perform document import daily and review ERX requests with providers' direction
- Handle failed and error electronic prescriptions, and contact insurance companies for authorizations
- Perform intermediate-level disinfection and high-level disinfection per manufacturer instructions
- Follow medical record documentation procedure and assist providers with navigating the medical record
- Document patient information and present during provider services
- Conduct daily and weekly check-offs on equipment and perform monthly check-offs for eye wash
- Ensure patient care areas are cleaned after each visit per SOMC guidelines
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required
- Licensed to practice as an LPN (applicable to state) required
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- One to three months experience preferred
