About CALM

CALM is a community-based mental health agency serving Santa Barbara County, dedicated to preventing childhood trauma, healing children and families, and building resilient communities.

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Worker to join our team in providing mental health consultation services to enhance the capacity of families and caregivers to respond to the social-emotional and behavioral needs of children and their families.

About the Role

  • Implement evidence-based mental health best practices in collaboration with families and caregivers to promote positive relationships, routines, and practices that support healthy child development.
  • Conduct observations to assess and inform classroom culture, daily routines, relationships, transitions, and challenging behaviors.
  • Develop written intervention strategies using a team approach to assist providers with positive behavior-support strategies.
  • Connect and refer families and providers to programs, resources, and supports that foster their development while addressing barriers to access.
  • Requirements
    • Master's degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
    • At least two years of experience working with children aged birth to five.
    • Strong commitment to CALM's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office and web-based systems.
