Data Scientist Role at LMI Consulting, LLC

LMI Consulting, LLC is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team in Tampa, Florida. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading guided, multifaceted analytical studies against large volumes of data. You will demonstrate the ability to frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize, and find data solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work with and manipulate common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON. You will transform data and analysis into informative data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards using open source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.

You will derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to specific research questions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis, and reporting is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze data using exploratory mathematical and statistical techniques based on the scientific method
  • Experiment against data points, provide information based on experiment results, and provide previously undiscovered solutions to command data challenges
  • Coordinate with Data Engineers to build Data environments providing data identified by Data Analysts, Data Integrators, Knowledge Managers, and Intel Analysts
  • Coordinate research and analytic activities utilizing various data points (unstructured and structured) and employ programming to clean, massage, and organize the data
  • Develop and deploy AI/ML models to enrich data holding in support of priority intelligence requirements
  • Create advanced analytic models leveraging multi-modal datasets to answer complex intelligence questions

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline is required
  • Experience working with Python, R, Natural Language Processing (NLP), AI/ML Ops
  • ~2+ years of relevant experience in the field
  • ~Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems
  • ~Preferred experience with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics
  • ~Additional preferred qualifications include working with unstructured text and natural language processing
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the TS/SCI level
