1. POSITION SUMMARY

Title: Finishing Press Technician

Department: Digital/Conventional

Reports to: Digital/Conventional Press Room Supervisor

2. JOB SUMMARY

The Finishing Press Technician is tasked with the setup and operation of finishing presses in accordance with the finishing specifications and client requirements.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Execute routine finishing tasks as per job ticket specifications.

· Assess orders and confirm that the correct substrates, coatings, and cutting tools are used as directed.

· Conduct all start-up checks, validate, and secure start approval.

· Finalize jobs by confirming end results and completing necessary documentation.

· Perform technical adjustments and maintenance on the finishing press.

· Follow procedures for quality inspections, visual assessments, and ensuring label integrity.

· Identify when routine adjustments are required, catching errors early to reduce production reworks.

· Troubleshoot machinery when performance does not meet standards.

· Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.

4. ADDITIONAL DUTIES

· Interpret and understand documents such as safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and work procedures.

· Read and interpret measurements accurately.

· Possess knowledge of color theory and the ability to make adjustments and corrections while operating equipment.

5. REQUIRED SKILLS

· Physical strength and endurance.

· Strong organizational and basic mathematical skills.

· Ability to collaborate with others in a deadline-oriented environment.

· Basic computer proficiency including email and word processing.

· Understanding of the fundamental processes of digital printing.

· Experience in operating mechanical and electromechanical equipment.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to follow instructions.

· Capable of developing multiple alternative solutions based on limited information.
