About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer I to join our Simulation and Training Solutions team in Sterling, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, integrating, testing, and documenting electrical hardware of moderate complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for simulation and training applications.
  • Conduct electrical analysis and characterization, including AC and DC power budgets and part specification.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, cable drawings, parts lists, and wire lists.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.
  • Participate in integration and test of completed designs and sub-systems.
  • Report status relating to technical performance, cost, and schedule for assigned scope of work.
  • Provide support for customer reviews and meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with electrical analysis & characterization, AC & DC power budgets, and part specification.
  • Experience with technical documentation such as schematics, cable drawings, parts lists, and wire lists.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools for electrical schematic capture and electrical design documentation.
  • Proficient utilizing MS Office Applications / Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training Simulator Engineering Design Experience.
  • Ability to quickly change focus between high-level concepts and low-level details.
  • Self-motivated, able to organize, manage, and complete assignments on time.
  • A well-developed habit of verifying work for accuracy prior to submission for review by others.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and customers both written and verbally.
