The Micro Lab Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products by assisting in the identification of the root cause of high organism counts, implementing sanitation and maintenance procedures for all equipment, and prioritizing micro lab work to meet production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Sanitation and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by implementing sanitation and maintenance procedures for all equipment.
- Food Safety and Quality Control: Assist in the identification of the root cause of high organism counts and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Micro Lab Work: Prioritize micro lab work to meet production deadlines and ensure timely completion of finished goods results.
- Compliance and Reporting: Maintain records for USDA and audit purposes, and report results of testing by initiating and writing food safety reports.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain good communication with subordinates, peers, and other members of management, and train and set safety goals for sanitation crew.
- Education and Experience: Four year college degree in agriculture or science related field, or five years' experience in vegetable planting, harvesting, and/or processing.
- Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software, as well as experience with third party regulatory agencies such as USDA and FDA.
- Personal Qualities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, and knowledge of the GMP, HACCP, and Environmental sanitation program.
