Music Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Treasure Coast Hospice. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing music therapy services to patients, families, and staff, promoting comfort, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Implement music therapy assessments and plans in accordance with interdisciplinary care plans.
- Guide patients in creative therapeutic activities to improve mental and physical functions and quality of life.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services and document all services provided.
- Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities on music therapy best practices.
- Participate in special events and follow standards of practice set by the American Music Therapy Association and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
- CBMT Board Certification and continuing music therapy education requirements.
- High customer service orientation and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate musical skills, including soothing singing, guitar, and piano proficiency.
- Knowledge of music therapy research and best practices in clinical interventions.
- Ability to recognize patient/family strengths and weaknesses and support systems.
This position involves standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying objects, climbing, crouching, crawling, stooping, reaching, handling, and typing. The incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation, or disaster.
Additional InformationThe person in this position will work in a smoke-free location and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions. Treasure Coast Hospice is an EEO/Drug-Free Workplace.
