Job Description

At Lockheed Martin, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing Post Delivery Availabilities and installation of the Combat System Equipment during new construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the installation of Combat System Equipment during new construction
  • Ensure compliance with Military Specifications and Standards related to bonding and grounding equipment on Navy Ships
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, integrate, and install ship support systems
  • Provide technical leadership and work in a multi-organization team to accomplish a common goal
  • Travel to various locations, including shipyards and naval bases, to perform installation and testing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 5 years of professional experience in installation engineering, or 3 years of experience with a related Master's degree
  • Knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards related to bonding and grounding equipment on Navy Ships
  • Experience with interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, and USN shipbuilding specifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend production drawings and military specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as an installation engineer in ship repair facilities or equivalent industrial environments
  • Experience with equipment engineering change installations (Field Changes, Engineering Changes, ORDALTs, SHIPALTs, Field Modification Bulletins)
  • Operational experience in the Aegis fleet
  • Experience with cable fabrication and testing, soldering, and wire wrap techniques
  • Experience with ship support systems (HP/LP Air, dry air, 400Hz, CND/SPY/Sonar Cooling Systems)
Security Clearance:

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration.
