As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will deliver direct patient care across a diverse age range, from neonates to geriatric patients. Your role will encompass addressing the psychosocial, physical, and overall aspects of care pertinent to the surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuous communication with the surgical team, including surgeons and anesthesiologists, regarding patient conditions.
- Assist in the upkeep of surgical instruments and inventory management.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Evaluate the operating room for equipment readiness and secure necessary supplies for surgical procedures.
- Monitor, position, and assist patients throughout surgical interventions.
Leadership Duties:
When serving in a charge nurse capacity, you will:
- Assign patient care responsibilities based on the competencies and experiences of nursing staff, ensuring safety for both patients and staff.
- Guide and mentor team members in all facets of patient care and management.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts from planning through execution, including addressing any lapses in duty by staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A minimum of 18 months of experience in acute or critical care settings is preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
- Certification as required by the relevant certification standards.
