Key Responsibilities:
  • Full-time position available
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM
As a Medical Imaging Transport Specialist, your primary duties will include:
  • Safely transporting patients to and from the Radiology Department using appropriate methods based on their condition.
  • Assisting technologists with various procedures as needed.
  • Helping with patient transfers and ensuring comfort.
  • Educating and preparing patients for imaging procedures.
  • Assisting patients in completing questionnaires and positioning for exams.
  • Preparing oral and IV contrast as required.
  • Setting up exam rooms and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
  • Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies.
  • Documenting exam details accurately.
  • Keeping patients and their families informed about the progress of their exams.
  • Performing vital signs when necessary.
  • Collaborating with technologists to ensure timely submission of exams to radiologists.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Self-motivated, compassionate, and able to work effectively with others.
  • Previous experience in a radiology aide role or similar healthcare environment is advantageous.
  • Understanding of proper body mechanics for patient handling.
  • Competency in transporting patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Current BLS certification or completion of training within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regular heavy lifting, often exceeding 100 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through speaking, hearing, and seeing.
  • Physical activities including stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Considerable walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry and vital sign assessments.
  • Ability to perceive sounds adequately, with or without corrections.
  • Vision must be adequate for preparing reports and reading materials, correctable with glasses or contacts.
