About the Role:

The Perioperative Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing basic and technical clinical services to patients of all ages. This position requires a team-oriented, collaborative approach to patient care, ensuring quality service and a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in a clean and organized condition to maintain required standards for handling sterilized and clean materials.
  • Sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies using flash sterilization, load sterilizers in the prescribed manner, and set controls to specified time and temperature.
  • Identify instrument procedure trays according to the prescribed manner, handle all items following aseptic practices, and dispense products requested for sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies.
  • Disassemble and decontaminate equipment using approved chemical solution, reassemble instruments and equipment after cleaning, and operate to test for proper functioning.
  • Apply aseptic techniques in daily work assignments, clean and/or safely operate selected equipment within the department, and maintain cleanliness of the equipment.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous NA experience in direct patient care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Must successfully complete Basic Life Support Course within 6 months of hire.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and team working skills required.
