Water Safety Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Water Safety Specialist to join our team at NOVA Parks. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all pool patrons in and around the swimming pool.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the swimming pool and deck area for safety hazards and emergencies
  • Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies, including providing first aid to injured patrons
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations, and inform swimmers and pool patrons of these rules as needed
  • Perform minor housekeeping duties around the pool complex, including trash clean up, cleaning restrooms, and arranging deck furniture

Requirements:

  • At least 15 years old
  • Successful completion of an Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP) course hosted by NOVA Parks
  • Ability to swim 100 yards without stopping, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deepest end of the pool
  • Maintenance of ILTP certification and Community First Aid through mandatory in-service training of no less than four hours monthly
