Job Summary

The Associate CNC Programmer is a key member of our production team, responsible for operating machines within the machine shop to produce parts to dimensional tolerances called out on CAD drawings. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to make complex modifications to existing CNC programs based on component specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machines within the machine shop to produce parts to dimensional tolerances called out on CAD drawings.
  • Make complex modifications to existing CNC programs based on component specifications.
  • Adjust feeds and speeds to maintain the best cutting conditions and maximize tool life.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, or other types of measurement devices to check part dimensions.
  • Read print drawings and check part dimensions against print tolerances.
  • Maintain equipment in clean, good working order.
  • Evaluate machine processes and programs for efficiency.
  • Train machine operators on procedures.
Requirements
  • Ability to learn and understand all levels of machine operations; multiple machine functionality.
  • Ability to focus and pay close attention to detail while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to use or learn to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Ability to evaluate tooling wear for determining and regulating speed and feed rates of machines.
  • Ability to work and communicate within a team setting.
  • Ability to recognize defects, out-of-tolerance measurements and escalate those matters to management.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to modify machine programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to three years work experience.
  • Ability to operate all machines within the facility.
  • Experience working in a production environment using heavy industrial equipment and/or machinery.
