Position Summary
The Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components for aircraft and associated systems. This role involves leading small, multidisciplinary teams to create innovative designs while collaborating with various departments to ensure successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete development process of new UAV system components from initial concept to production.
- Enhance existing product lines through performance evaluations, documentation enhancements, and rigorous testing.
- Develop CAD models for both new and existing products.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation packages, including drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding project challenges and progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing intricate mechanical assemblies for UAVs or similar technologies.
- Experience with UAV or flight equipment design is essential.
- Proficiency in composite part design and production-quality engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in electrical and aircraft design.
- Knowledge of PDM systems, specifically SolidWorks, is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role is advantageous.
