As a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to Med Surg patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes and medication administration records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Current IL RN license.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Med Surg RN.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills.
- Experience with gastrointestinal case management, including colostomy care and feeding tube management.
- Experience with genitourinary/renal case management, including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure.
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, including blood product administration and central line blood draw.
- Experience with medication administration, including heparin, insulin, and PCA.
- Experience with neurological/psychiatric case management, including spinal cord injuries and ortho trauma.
- Experience with surgical drains.
- Experience with respiratory case management, including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management.
- Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac.
- BLS certification.
