Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess the operational guidelines and procedures of the contractor, ensuring alignment with industry 'best practices'.
- Scrutinize Daily Reports to guarantee accurate documentation of incidents, unusual events, or accidents.
- Ensure contractor adherence to 'best practices' and contractual obligations with various governmental bodies.
- Collaborate with the contractor on plan assessments, permit issuance, Temporary Access Permits, and compliance with third-party regulations.
- Oversee O&M compliance in rolling stock, fixed asset upkeep, track, signaling, and electrical distribution systems.
- Work together with the contractor on planning and designing system enhancements to mitigate negative service impacts.
- Monitor the Capital Asset Replacement Program and contribute to Capital Budget Preparation and variance analysis.
- Assume the responsibilities of NJ TRANSIT Superintendent as necessary.
Supervision: N/A
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Transportation, Industrial Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Three years of relevant experience in commuter rail transportation, vehicle maintenance, or infrastructure upkeep can replace each year of education.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in contract negotiation preferred.
- Familiarity with FTA regulations and NJDOT State Safety Oversight Standards is desirable.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and field settings.
Physical Requirements:
- Involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
