Volt is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in Austin, Texas. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the quality and efficiency of our products.
Key Responsibilities:- Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards and routes wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Perform solder masking, taping non-solderable areas, installing e-proms into sockets, and placing labels on boards per production documents.
- Properly load boards on pallets and inspect nonconforming solder join defects on PTH and SMT chips components.
- Collect data using SPC charts and fill out returned forms of conforming and nonconforming materials.
- Prepare setup kits for incoming shifts and perform basic touch-up, removal, and placement, inspecting own work and the work of others following applicable work instructions and quality procedures.
- Detect nonconforming defects and their defect codes to enter into shop floor control systems.
- Report deviations from standard procedures to engineering or supervisor and provide inputs on quality improvements.
- 6-12 months of manufacturing or related experience preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Must be able to read/write/speak English.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
