- Communicate effectively with hospice team members and patient caregivers regarding patient care issues.
- Maintain accurate patient data and charts in the computer system.
- Process and fill prescriptions with 100% accuracy.
- Restock emergency boxes daily and maintain inventory control.
- File patient charts daily and obtain cover prescriptions for narcotics.
- Coordinate deliveries with PFCC, Admissions, and primary nurse.
- Compound medications as needed and monitor purchasing from pharmacy specialty vendors.
- Perform various tasks in the pharmacy as requested and maintain daily paperwork.
- Answer telephone calls and record messages according to Hospice standards.
- Purchase supplies and complete documentation for expenditures.
- Prepare documentation and patient letters as requested.
- Prioritize and package medications for delivery.
- Ensure company vehicles are clean, serviced, and in good running order.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- State of Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration for Pharmacy Technician required.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a pharmacy or pharmaceutical setting.
- Valid Florida driver's license and current auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, patients, or employees.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to demonstrate essential usage.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret instructions and operate common office machines.
