Join Our Team as a Pediatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner

Novant Health is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Advanced Practice Provider to become a vital part of our newly established pediatric surgery team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves delivering clinical care to pediatric patients undergoing general surgery in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider with experience in Pediatric Surgery and operating room procedures. The ideal candidate should be patient-focused, adaptable, reliable, and respectful of all team members, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while assessing pediatric patients.

The selected candidate will collaborate effectively with referring offices and will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of our physicians. These responsibilities include:

  • Conducting patient evaluations in the clinic
  • Assisting in surgical procedures in the operating room
  • Performing various office procedures
  • Rounding at our inpatient facilities

Qualifications:

Education: A Master's Degree is required, with a background from an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program or a post-Master's NP program.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in pediatrics and/or surgery is required.

Licensure/Certification: Current PA or NP license in the appropriate state is mandatory, along with NCCPA certification or registration with the state nursing board, ACLS, and DEA registry. RNFA certification is also required for Nurse Practitioners.

Additional Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing
  • Thorough knowledge of diagnoses and pharmacology
  • Strong skills in physical assessment and chronic illness management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • General computer proficiency
