Job Summary:

The Video Editor is responsible for piecing together raw footage into a finished product. They work with the creative team to ensure that the final video is polished and aligns with the intended vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Media Ingestion: Responsible for uploading media to online cloud storage systems.
  • Transcoding and Media Management: Transcodes footage into editable formats such as ProRes or Proxies, and manages media assets and maintains organization of editing projects.
  • Media Editing: Edits video content for assigned projects, ensuring smooth cuts and transitions, syncs sound, applies visual effects, and color corrects footage.
  • Media Delivery: Collaborates with filmmakers and producers to finalize projects, ensuring all content meets quality standards and deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Cooperates with Graphic Designer for motion graphics or thumbnails for the company website or YouTube.

This role is part of the student staff team at SHSU Online, working on various video projects to support the university's online initiatives.
