Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Scanner Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals. As an MRI Scanner Specialist, you will be responsible for operating MRI scanners and ensuring that procedures produce high-quality images and information for healthcare professionals to make accurate diagnoses.

About the Role
  • You will be working directly with patients, ensuring their comfort and calmness during the procedure.
  • You will be responsible for interviewing patients, explaining the procedure, and positioning them correctly on the table.
  • You will develop relationships with patients as you help diagnose their conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform MRI scans as directed by radiologists.
  2. Provide compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates to geriatrics.
  3. Answer phones and arrange schedules for in-patient requests.
  4. Assure a safe and clean environment.
  5. Maintain knowledge of technical skills.
  6. Initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients/customers and coworkers.
  7. Take responsibility for self-development and support a learning environment.
  8. Display commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
  9. Demonstrate successful technical/patient skills by efficiently implementing special procedure technology in the MR area.
  10. Use administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department.
  11. Collaborate effectively and in a timely manner with co-workers and clinical staff.
  12. Provide age-specific care to patients from neonates to geriatrics.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • MR scanning experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile and surgical procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in an MRI environment is required.
  • Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machine, and emergency equipment is required.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT:R) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
