Deputy Treasurer/Utility Billing Supervisor

The City of Mt. Pleasant is seeking a dedicated professional with exceptional customer service skills, proven leadership abilities, and experience in utility and tax billing.

The ideal candidate will leverage their strong understanding of municipal accounting practices and collaborative leadership style to support the Utility Billing team and serve as a member of the City's Finance leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage utility billing operations and ensure accurate and timely processing of payments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and businesses, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in utility billing or related field.
  • Proven leadership and customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of municipal accounting practices and procedures.
