The Process Controls Engineer is a key member of our team at Weidmann Electrical Technology, responsible for developing and implementing projects that drive the success of our Urbana, OH facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement control systems for complex industrial processes.
- Develop and evaluate alternative system solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Create and modify program logic for multiple systems and subsystems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in industrial control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage development efforts, including assigning tasks, conducting project plan reviews, and monitoring cost and resource estimates.
- Provide technical support and estimates for control system projects.
- Conduct training and foster professional development with engineering, production employees, and maintenance departments.
- Manage capital projects, including purchasing, installing, and starting up new process equipment.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors performing work on control and safety systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial controls or 10 years of Controls experience in a manufacturing plant (paper manufacturing preferred).
- Extensive development experience with ABB DCS, Siemens, or Allen Bradley controls.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a hot and humid environment for extended periods.
