Job Summary

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for partnering with our Principals, Senior Project Managers, and Clients to deliver exceptional design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Proactively partner with our Principals and Senior Project Managers to develop and implement design strategies for our projects.
  • Project Management: Confidently lead the efforts of project team members, clients, consultants, contractors, and agency officials to ensure successful project delivery.
  • BIM Management: Successfully lead the production, organization, and coordination of BIM models and drawing sets for presentations, agency approvals, and construction.
  • Team Development: Direct junior staff to produce presentation materials for client and agency presentations and other tasks required of the project.
  • Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior staff, sharing experiences and lessons learned to increase the firm's common knowledge.
  • Project Planning: Proactively and independently develop and track project delivery plans, staffing, budget, and schedule, providing regular key status updates to our Principals and Project Directors as needed.
  • Research and Specification: Research and specify materials, products, and systems for our projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Act as a champion for office standards, ensuring quality assurance and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Construction Administration: Attend job site meetings, oversee RFI responses, submittals, and shop drawing review during construction administration.
Qualifications
  • Education: Accredited degree in architecture.
  • Experience: At least seven years of related professional experience, preferably including design and detailing experience on high-end custom residential, hospitality, and workplace projects.
  • Licensure: California State Architect's license preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability and strong command of broad and deep technical architecture knowledge; technical knowledge of Type V construction is strongly preferred.
  • BIM Proficiency: Demonstrated 3D modeling/BIM proficiency (ArchiCAD preferred, but not required).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop junior staff team members.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits

Walker Warner Architects offers a competitive compensation package, including fully paid health benefits for employees, profit sharing, employer 401(k) contribution, generous paid time off, and flexible spending accounts, plus many more benefits.

The hiring base annual salary range for this position is $116,000 - $136,000. Any offer of compensation will be determined by a candidate's education, skills, and experience as assessed during the interview process.
