Houseman - FT Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseman to join our team at Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel. As a Houseman, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our public areas, including floors, carpets, and furniture. You will also be responsible for delivering service items to guest rooms, handling luggage assistance, and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Clean and buff floors daily according to hotel standards.
  • Shampoo carpets and furniture as needed according to hotel standards.
  • Clean public restrooms and ensure maintenance on a regular basis.
  • Handle luggage assistance at check-in and check-out in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow associates, and self.
  • Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping or Front Office at the end of the shift.
  • Complete daily assignment checklist and submit to supervisor at the end of the day.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable State and an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving record).
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
