Job Title: Consultant in Orthopaedics

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Orthopaedics to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Trauma, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The Consultant in Orthopaedics will be responsible for providing specialist care to patients with orthopaedic conditions, including Foot and Ankle Surgery and Trauma. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes and contribute to the development of our orthopaedic services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist care to patients with orthopaedic conditions, including Foot and Ankle Surgery and Trauma
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our orthopaedic services
  • Participate in teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
  • Higher academic qualification, e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Experience in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Trauma
  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
