Position Overview:

As a Vascular Ultrasound Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Your primary responsibilities will involve utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to identify and assess vascular conditions. You will conduct a variety of ultrasound examinations, assist in interventional procedures, and ensure accurate documentation of patient information.

Essential Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Completion of an accredited two-year Allied Health or Nursing Degree, or a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Ultrasound Technology.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 18 months of experience in Abdomen, Vascular, Ob/Gyn, and small parts sonography is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Possession of current ARDMS registration in physics and at least one specialty (abdomen or pelvis) along with RVT/RVS certification, or eligibility to obtain registration within one year of employment. Active membership in ARDMS and BLS Certification are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ultrasound examinations utilizing high-frequency sound waves to identify vascular abnormalities.
  • Support physicians during biopsy procedures and maintain comprehensive patient records.
  • Implement necessary adjustments, assist with quality assurance, and ensure proper maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, provide clear explanations, and communicate any changes in patient conditions to the medical team.
  • Participate in the training of new staff and students during their clinical rotations.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards, departmental protocols, and ensure compliance with all procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and attend departmental meetings regularly.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments, responding to situations with composure and efficiency.

Additional Considerations:

This role may involve participating in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend coverage, as well as the flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed. Candidates should possess strong decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
