Jewish Chaplain

The Jewish Chaplain provides spiritual guidance and support to the incarcerated population at North Kern State Prison. This role involves conducting religious services, counseling individuals on ethical and moral problems, and supervising faith-based programs.

• Conduct regular religious services and administer religious rites
• Counsel individuals on ethical and moral problems and spiritual matters
• Supervise faith-based programs and activities
• Provide Kosher meals for the population
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of chapels
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of Jewish faith and traditions, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

This role may require travel to other facilities within the prison system. You will be expected to work a standard 40-hour week, with occasional overtime as needed.
