Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you'll provide exceptional experiences for our patients, utilizing the highest quality standards to perform specimen collections and processing. You'll work closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants to deliver personalized and calming experiences for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for patients of all ages
  • Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  • Continuously care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties
  • Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life, to interact with team members and complete daily work
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, bilingual applicants encouraged to apply
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, with additional experience with remote teams a plus
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
  • Phlebotomy experience and/or certification preferred
  • Experience with extended scope care, including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs, preferred

Competitive salary: starts at $19.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule.

This is a full-time role (40 hrs/week) with 8 hr shifts generally taking place Monday - Friday between 7:30am-5pm based in our Dadeland office in Miami, FL or our Brickell office in Miami, FL.
