About the Position

This is an open continuous announcement for a Practical Nurse position at the Defense Health Agency. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. Job Summary

This Practical Nurse position is a Direct Hire Solicitation open to the public, U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. The selected candidate will be responsible for obtaining patient vital signs, updating patient records, assisting physicians with routine and diagnostic procedures, and performing assessments and medical evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient vital signs and update patient records during assigned shifts.
  • Assist physicians with routine and diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform assessments and medical evaluations for assigned patients.
  • Review infant, adolescent, and adult immunization records for required vaccinations.
  • Provide general nursing care for infants, adolescents, and adults.
Requirements
  • A current license to practice as a practical or vocational nurse in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, and adults.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
