Job Summary

New Leader Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our Engineering projects. As an Engineering Intern, you will assist with testing, documentation, and prototyping, and support current project updates.

Key Responsibilities

**Project Support**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting at least one major Design Engineering project, with specific responsibilities determined based on current priorities and needs.
  • Completing multiple current product updates (CI), with the number of updates determined based on complexity.
  • Consolidating and updating weights and CGs of current machines, and formatting a table that is complete and easy to keep updated.

**Productivity and Job Knowledge**

The Engineering Intern will also be responsible for:

  • Implementing multiple manufacturing change requests, with the number determined based on complexity.
  • Assisting in model layout updates in vault.
  • Assisting with completion of multiple Engineering Changes.

**Dependability and Safety**

The successful candidate will also be expected to:

  • Demonstrate a good attendance record, and be aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer and co-workers.
  • Complete goals and projects on time or ahead of schedule.
  • Respond to work assignments and requests by being cooperative and available.
  • Follow through and meet commitments.
  • Be available as a resource to subordinates and/or peers.
  • Follow safety procedures, protocols, policies, and adhere to all SAFESTART concepts, and act when others are not holding themselves accountable.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and solid modeling.
  • Demonstration of the following skills: organization, critical thinking, and teamwork.

**Physical Requirements**

The physical demands of this role include:

  • Regularly required to sit and interface with computer systems while maintaining a high level of concentration.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk while performing the duties of the job.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to use hands/fingers to handle or feel.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

**Work Environment**

The work environment for this role includes:

  • A quiet office work environment.
  • Occasional exposure to a shop environment while distributing documents to the shop area.
  • When on the shop floor, required to wear safety glasses at all times, steel-toed footwear, and ear protection when job demands presence in areas outside safety zones, and gloves when handling material.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
