Job Overview

This is a challenging position that requires precision and attention to detail. As a Plasma Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for operating a plasma machine to cut and fabricate metal materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and follow work instructions and blueprints to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Measure completed materials to ensure conformance to specifications using gauges and templates.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Team Leader or Management Team.
  • Set up and operate the plasma machine, adjusting torches to different angles and setting the flame as required.
  • Grind burrs or sharp edges using portable grinders.
  • Complete job requirements with minimal supervision, accurately documenting applicable information using computer and paper documents.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, performing preventative maintenance on tools as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with formal training or certification in welding.
  • Knowledge of fixtures and weld setup parameters, including amps and volts.
  • At least one year of experience in welding, preferably in a steel service center.
  • Familiarity with machines required for the position and ability to operate welding tools.
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $20.00/hour, plus benefits available after a probationary period, including UPMC Medical 70% paid, dental and vision available, and 401K with a 100% match up to 3% and 50% match up to 5%. Eight paid holidays plus a holiday bonus are also included, along with Life and Disability Insurance.
