Job Summary

The Senior Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all plant systems and equipment. This includes monitoring and maintaining balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings.

This role responds to system failures by taking corrective action and completing or assigning repairs to ensure systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.

The Senior Plant Maintenance Technician leads a team of Plant Technicians and reports directly to the Plant Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs repairs in accordance with Waste Management's Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements.
  2. Performs preventive maintenance inspections (PM) to diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components.
  3. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
  4. Leads non-supervisory employees and other staff, including contractors, consultants, and/or temporary employees.
  5. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Work Environment

The Senior Plant Maintenance Technician will work in a material recycle facility, repair/maintenance facility, outdoors, or other facilities. The level of physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than documented here.
