Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Summary:
The Nurse is responsible for delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies and procedures of Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. This role involves assisting the Director in nursing leadership and demonstrating proficiency in supervision and staff management.
The Nurse will provide feedback to the Director regarding patient care and serve as a clinical role model. Collaborating with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, the clinical RN will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate treatment plans.
Cross-training will be provided for EP LAB HRU, Cath Lab, and non-invasive procedures, including EKG and stress testing. Core competencies will be evaluated based on the specific patient population served. On-call duties are required.
Qualifications:
Licensure/Certifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire
- RN licensure in the State of Texas or a Compact State
Education:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Nursing required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading and writing basic English to understand and execute physician orders and document in medical records.
- Ability to assist with lifting over 100 pounds with support from personnel or equipment.
- Strong listening and empathetic skills to respond to the needs of patients, families, and external partners.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate medication dosages and common medications used in critical care.
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and intra-aortic balloon pumping.
- Team management skills to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- CCRN or Cardiac Specialty Nursing Certification.
