Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for performing various physical therapeutic treatments for patients with injuries or disabilities under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist. This role requires strong communication and technical skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities- Administer treatment programs to assigned patients, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, and gait training, in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
- Record patient progress and reactions to treatment in the patient's medical record.
- Instruct and provide technical direction to Physical Therapy Assistant students, technicians, and attendants in performing patient care activities.
- Counsel and teach patients and families in the use of assistive devices and exercise techniques to be performed at home.
- Two (2) years of experience working as a PTA is preferred.
- Associates Degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
- Currently licensed in the state of employment as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Current State of Tennessee Driver's license.
- Current Auto liability Insurance according to Company Policy.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
