Job Title: Material Handler

Join M.C. Dean, Inc. as a Material Handler and be part of a dynamic team that delivers exceptional results. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics service center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, verify, and count stock items, maintaining accurate records as necessary.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, investigating discrepancies and reconciling errors.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in material storage areas, using identification tags, stamps, electronic marking tools, and other labeling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determine proper storage methods based on stock location, turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of the facility.
  • Store stock items in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner within the warehouses, supply rooms, material storage, and lay-down areas.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Maintain documented records outlining the usage of stock and stock handling equipment.

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated experience with a High School Diploma or 1-2 years with an Associate's Degree and proficiency with electrical design build industry materials and equipment, and Logistics Service Center processes and procedures at M.C. Dean, Inc.
  • Must have demonstrated experience and proficiency with intermediate-level MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent reporting and tracking skills, along with a consistent record of accuracy, high productivity, professional-level work ethic, and strict compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate competency with managing critical tasks individually, such as controlling consignment programs, tool management, managing the lay-down area, and/or loading and unloading zones, and various other individual responsibilities as assigned.
Abilities:
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
