School Psychologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified School Psychologist to join our team at the Schenectady City School District. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and families.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychological and educational assessments, developing behavior plans, and designing interventions to address children's academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent consultative skills, cultural responsiveness, and creativity in addressing student needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer psychological and educational assessments to identify student strengths and challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop behavior plans and interventions
  • Design and evaluate programs to support student academic, behavioral, and emotional development
  • Demonstrate knowledge of special education regulations, processes, and procedures
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Doctorate in School Psychology or a related field
  • NYS certification as a School Psychologist
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university
  • Experience working in schools and with children (preferable)
