Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures using radioactive isotopes to generate imaging information necessary for patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assess and evaluate physician orders for Nuclear Medicine examinations according to departmental protocol.
  • Evaluate patient requests for procedures and assess patients to determine the appropriate protocol and method of application.
  • Provide patient education on radioactive isotope safety issues and radiation safety-related matters.
  • Position patients and perform diagnostic imaging procedures using Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras.
  • Care for patients throughout procedures according to department and hospital standards of nursing care, age-specific standards, and "Patients' First" guidelines.
  • Participate in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.
  • Act as a physician assistant during sterile procedures such as aspirations, drainages, and biopsies associated with Nuclear Medicine guided procedures.
  • Notify physicians as required of changes in patient physical condition or unique imaging characteristics.
  • Responsible for completion and maintenance of medical records consisting of films and associated paperwork for processing.
Qualifications
  • ARRT or NMTCB accreditation
  • IEMA-Division of Nuclear Safety licensed and accredited
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Training Program
  • CEUs consistent with remaining licensed and accredited by aforementioned bodies
