Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee

As a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, you will participate in a structured, progressive on-the-job training program to learn and employ analytical, preventative maintenance, and repair duties for construction equipment, trucks, and automobiles powered by gasoline or diesel engines.
Description of Work
Under the guidance of supervisors, managers, and other staff, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of diesel and construction equipment, including trucks and automobiles. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Seasonal shift changes may occur, and travel, overtime, and shift work are required.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
To be eligible for this position, you must have two years of experience as a Tradesman Helper working in the automotive field, or have graduated from a post-high school diesel technology curriculum of an accredited trade or technical school, or have an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment
Certain positions may require employees to possess an active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's Permit or License on the first day of employment. Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment. All positions will require employees to obtain a valid Pennsylvania Class 1, 4, or 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification during the probationary period.
