Assisted Living Medication Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assisted Living Certified Medication Technician to join our team at East Carolina Rehab and Wellness. As a medication technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position working on one of our three shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am. You will be responsible for preparing and administering prescribed medications to patients in compliance with all facility policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications to patients
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures regarding medication administration
- Document medication administration on the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
- Document medications not administered on the MAR and the reason for not being administered
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) as needed
- Participate in data collection, medication audits, and other performance improvement activities related to medication administration
- Report any adverse patient medication reactions immediately to a supervisor
- Reorder and replace medications and medication administration supplies as needed
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a valid Medication Technician Certificate in the state of North Carolina. Additionally, you must be dependable, a team player, and motivated. You should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work under stress on a regular basis.
