The ECAD Engineering Tools & Solutions Organization is dedicated to developing exceptional workflows for board design at Apple. We focus on innovative methods to analyze intricate designs, ensuring quality assessments of our products prior to manufacturing.

This multifaceted role requires collaboration across various departments with hardware engineering partners to define, develop, and support solutions that enhance the efficiency and productivity of our elite hardware engineering team, ultimately aiding in the realization and delivery of Apple's premier hardware offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
The CAD Engineer will be tasked with:

  • Establishing workflows to anticipate failures related to component behavior early in the design phase.
  • Collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot issues throughout the design process.
  • Creating a regression framework to test and implement new workflows/solutions, while proposing design metrics for tracking.
  • Working alongside multifunctional partners to define use cases, brainstorm solutions, and generate product requirements.
  • Serving as a domain expert and advocating for innovative concepts within the hardware engineering community.
  • Engaging with vendors to ensure that Apple's requirements are clearly understood and fulfilled.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
At least 6 years of professional experience in developing workflows and utilizing EDA tools such as Spice and System Capture, with a comprehensive understanding of system design methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with constraints-driven designs and processes.
Knowledge of power topology analysis and mean time between failures.
Experience in training development and delivery.
Strong interpersonal skills and customer engagement experience.
Proficient debugging abilities.
Familiarity with Confluence is advantageous.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This structure allows for growth and advancement within your role.
The base pay range for this position is between $112,900 and $234,700, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
