Job Summary:

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing tailored instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and social goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs that cater to each student's unique needs, ensuring they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed.
  • Provide Direct Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction across various subjects, utilizing differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, collecting data to adjust instructional plans as necessary and ensure students meet their academic and social goals.
  • Communicate with Parents and Stakeholders: Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the educational process.
  • Develop Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Skills: Assist students in developing essential social, emotional, and behavioral skills that contribute to their overall success.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations by maintaining accurate and confidential student records.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification: Hold a valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher is highly desirable.
  • Strong Understanding of Special Education Laws and Regulations: Possess a strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to Fostering a Positive Learning Environment: Possess a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
