Position Overview:

The Senior Assistant Merchandise Manager (SAMM) is an essential position within the Bloomingdale's Site Merchandising & Optimization team. This role focuses on implementing merchandising strategies online and overseeing a direct report. The SAMM will be instrumental in developing and refining approaches for website merchandising, navigation, and content delivery to enhance conversion rates and align with sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy of on-site navigation and product attribution within your designated business area.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track demand, traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics across significant categories and brands to inform and enhance merchandising strategies.
  • Collaborate with buying and planning teams to fully grasp and support key business objectives.
  • Maintain high-quality search results and optimize cross-sell and upsell opportunities for your business area and core brands.
  • Organize and evaluate website promotions to guarantee proper functionality before and after launch.
  • Provide data-driven insights to enhance online messaging and merchandising execution.
  • Assist in planning on-site content campaigns for your business area.
  • Support digital marketing initiatives by implementing SEO recommendations and aiding Search and Affiliate teams with linking strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field are encouraged to apply.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in a related role.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on keeping others informed and presenting information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal abilities, capable of working across various functions and levels.
  • Creative, strategic, and technical thinking skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the department and company.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
