Job Title: Senior Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team at Trilon Group. As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading technical discussions and overseeing the development of water resource/hydraulic design for a wide range of transportation design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of water resource/hydraulic design.
  • Leads project team meetings and presents specific aspects of water resource/hydraulic design.
  • Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.
  • Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers.
  • Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.
  • Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Registration as a P.E. in the State of Virginia is desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in water resource/hydraulic engineering design.
  • Understanding VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.
  • Strong technical design background in water resource/hydraulic design and familiar with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards.
  • Must demonstrate teamwork and possess written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
