Cybersecurity Specialist 3

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer 3 to join our team. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for identifying mission challenges and formulating engineering solutions to support our cyber operations activities and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and Mitigate Risks: Utilize your expertise to identify potential security threats and develop effective mitigation strategies to protect our systems and data.
- Design and Implement Security Solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure systems and architectures that meet the needs of our organization.
- Conduct Security Assessments: Perform regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and Implement Security Policies: Work with our cybersecurity team to develop and implement security policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure that security requirements are met and that our systems and data are protected.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, and 5+ years of relevant work experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Security Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to maintain such a clearance.
- Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with telecommunications and IT systems, knowledge of optical and IP networks, experience with systems integration, test and evaluation, installation and acceptance testing, and in-operation test and evaluation.
- Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Industry Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP.
- Experience with Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance. The selected candidate will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance with 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
