Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, operating complex equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures, including transporting, transferring, and positioning patients.
  • Calculate and select proper technical factors, operate equipment, and acquire and process images.
  • Provide radiation protection and assist physicians in administering contrast media.
  • Assist in Quality Improvement projects and maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Rotate within department, divisions, and off-site clinics, and cooperate with all personnel to promote harmony within the department.
  • Explain exams to patients, maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs in accordance with Massachusetts state licensure and ARRT requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved formal program in Radiologic technology.
  • Valid Massachusetts license as a Radiologic technologist in the category of Radiography.
  • ARRT certification and registration.
  • Years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Working Conditions
  • Must be prepared to work OT, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Works in a large open area in radiology with extreme temperature and humidity variations.
  • Minimal exposure to ionizing radiation when using proper safety procedures.
  • Continuous standing and lifting.
  • Exposure to human waste and disease.
  • Considerable stress from dealing with a wide variety of hospital staff, patients, and families.
