The resort's beach areas boast zero-entry swim areas, bars, cabanas, private firepits, a lively food hall and gourmet market, a casual dining restaurant, and an event Boathouse providing a picturesque backdrop for weddings, banquets, and corporate meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Banquet Manager in the operation of the Banquet Department.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the execution of the Banquet Events.
- Effectively supervise Banquet staff members, including Banquet Servers, Banquet Bartenders, and Banquet Housemen.
- Coordinate every aspect of the Banquet Staff during all Food and Beverage service.
- Conduct pre-function meetings for Banquet events.
- Maintain direct contact with Meeting Planners and Event Contacts throughout the Banquet function.
- Coordinate with Stewarding staff for the delivery and pickup of Food and equipment.
- Ensure Banquet Checks are signed by the Client after every Banquet function.
- Have detailed knowledge of our Banquet Menus, Wedding Menus, and all Package Pricing for all areas of Evermore Orlando Resort.
- Maintain all records for Inventory of and Labor Cost, monthly.
- Participate and provide input on Food and Beverage activities.
- Maintain completion of all necessary forms, including Banquet Bar requisitions, to ensure seamless coordination with Purchasing.
- Manage guest requests and resolve any issues immediately.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all supporting departments, including Event Services, Food and Beverage, Culinary, Golf Course, and Executive Offices.
- Inspect Banquet rooms on a continuous basis to ensure quality, assurance, and excellence.
- Meet all Safety and Sanitation requirements and proper Training with Banquet Staff, such as proper food handling and storage, amongst all other mandated training requirements.
- Continue to learn and remain up to date with all new processes and technology in the Hotel Industry, as it relates to Banquet Operations.
- Work with minimal supervision and have excellent customer service skills.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role in a Resort or Hotel setting.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Good computer skills in POS Systems, Delphi/Amadeus, email, web browsing, and scheduling software.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, guests, and co-workers.
- Strong Team Player with results-driven attitude.
- Knowledge of Banquet Operations and how the Resort departments work collaboratively to achieve business objectives and meet customer expectations.
- Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
- Adhere to property and company policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a wide range of people.
- Outstanding organizational, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, an ever-changing environment, and prioritize job duties.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Alcohol Service Training, Food safety, and applicable sanitation training & certification.
- Capable of working varied shifts, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Able to safely lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach periodically.
- Subject to environmental conditions, work activities can occur inside and outside.
