At the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Medical Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our state-of-the-art facilities.

About Our Agency

We are a public safety net that provides policies, programs, and services for individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. Our agency operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state, focusing on behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and hospital services.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position eligible for State Benefits, working 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The successful candidate will provide direct nursing care to patients, administer medications, and supervise support staff as needed. They will also measure and record vital signs, observe patients' conditions, and take necessary action.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Six months of nursing experience
