Upholstery Designer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Upholstery Designer to join our team at Wulco Inc. as an Interior Craft Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and installing custom automotive interiors, including upholstery, trim, and other interior components.

Job Responsibilities:

• Upholstery and Trim Installation: Design and install custom upholstery and trim for various vehicle models, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Component Removal and Reinstallation: Safely remove and reinstall delicate interior components, such as panels, headliners, and seats, as required.
• Collaboration with Electrical and Mechanical Teams: Coordinate with the electrical and mechanical teams to ensure a smooth vehicle build sequence and timely completion of schedules.
• Troubleshooting and Quality Control: Identify and resolve issues within assigned areas of the build, engaging other assistance as needed to maintain quality and schedule.

Requirements:

• Experience in Automotive Upholstery Fabrication and Installation: Preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training.
• Hand Tool and Power Tool Skills: Basic knowledge of hand tools, air tools, and powered hand tools, including tape measures, squares, scissors, knives, and spray pots.
• Adhesive Application: Ability to apply adhesives using a spray pot.
• Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to participate in a team, recognize priorities, brainstorm, solve complex problems, and execute simple plans.
