Firefighter

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter to join our team at the State of Georgia. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, including aircraft fires, structural fires, and hazardous material spills. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining specialized vehicles and equipment, as well as performing fire inspections and other duties as required.

• Respond to emergency situations, including aircraft fires, structural fires, and hazardous material spills
• Operate and maintain specialized vehicles and equipment
• Perform fire inspections and other duties as required
• Assist in fire emergency dispatch operations
• Clean and maintain fire department buildings and grounds

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Physical Fitness and Agility: Candidate must pass a NFPA 1582 Physical and Medical Examination
• Security Clearance: Must obtain a favorable background investigation, and have an appropriate clearance to allow access to computer networks and restricted areas in the performance of their duties
• State and Military Drivers License: All fire fighters are required to possess and maintain a current State drivers license, and will obtain and maintain a military drivers license identifying assigned fire fighting vehicles

• Firefighter II NPQ/IFSAC certification
• Current CPR and First Responder certification
• NPQ/IFSAC Hazardous Material Operations certification
